An organisation that aims to stop sexual exploitation is disappointed a man found with over 200,000 child porn images may get home detention.

Thirty five year-old Porirua man Bruce Wigzell was on Friday given the country's heaviest sentence yet of two-years jail.

But he has also got leave to apply for home detention.

Founder of the Stop Demand Foundation Denise Ritchie says even though he may not get it, he should not even have a chance.

She says the offences were probably committed in his own home, so to let him go back to that environment is perverse.

Denise Ritchie says the man has not acknowledged the gravity of his offending, as it is his second offence for possessing such material.
